The Attic

Welcome to The Attic — a remote design project that had us wishing the story would never end.
But first, let’s rewind.

This darling family of five purchased their newly built home and lived in it for about a year before beginning the design process. We started on the main floor, creating a cohesive and welcoming first impression that finally felt reflective of the home they had always envisioned. Through thoughtful space planning, elevated lighting moments, upscale furnishings, and intentional problem-solving, we transformed the builder-grade shell into something far more personal, layered, and functional.

Then came the attic.

The challenge? An oversized, open-concept space that felt difficult to define, yet somehow sparked ten different ideas all at once.

Our answer: go all in! The result became a multifunctional escape where we embraced masculinity, a moody saturated palette, carved out intentional zones, and designed a layout that feels both connected and comfortably distinct at the same time. Call us biased, It’s but we this it’s officially the coolest room in the house.

A space for conversations, cocktails, vinyl sessions, gaming marathons, movie nights, guitar playing, work-from-home days, and an imaginative play nook for the two little ladies of the house; all tucked beneath one very stylish roof. The final result feels transportive — almost like stepping into another world just three floors up. Talk about a stark contrast from the rest of the bright and breezy home.

Shortly after the project wrapped, the family’s beloved pup, Rusty, passed away. During his final months, the homeowners would carry him up all three flights of stairs so he could curl up in his favourite sun-soaked spot, listening to the kids play while dad worked nearby.

We’re especially grateful to have these photographs now — little snapshots of Rusty resting in one of his favourite places in the home.
